Reelect Kate Bishop for Ferndale City Council
It has been a hard couple of years. Not just the pandemic, but the brutal rhetoric that has tried to divide us, the strain of income inequality, and rising cost of housing have all taken their toll on our community. The trauma we have experienced as a community lingers, but it will not last.
My name is Kate Bishop, I know a thing or two about healing from trauma. I’m a social services professional, a working mom and for the last four years, your voice on the Ferndale City Council. It has been an honor to serve, to dig in and work for our local businesses, playgrounds and neighborhoods.
As your councilmember, I secured funding for the Ferndale Community Resource Center to protect our most vulnerable. I helped create the North Whatcom Poverty Task Force, because poverty looks different out here in a small town and we need real boots on the ground solutions. I chaired the Finance and Administration committee to ensure that every penny the city collects is spent wisely and frugally and I fought for big projects like the Thornton Overpass and the Star Park Picnic Shelter so we can build something great for the next generation of Ferndale residents.
We have all experienced the trauma of the last couple of years but we will not let it define us. Join me as we work for affordable housing, local businesses and justice.
My name is Kate Bishop and I’m running for reelection because I will never stop fighting for you!
