Kate Bishop
As a social services professional and a working mom, I know that solutions to big problems are not as simple or straightforward as they may seem. It requires listening to others and taking concrete steps to build a Ferndale we can all believe in.
I grew up in a small town much like Ferndale in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. I moved to Whatcom County fifteen years ago and put down roots in Ferndale because I was ready to start a family.
I’ve always believed to make change, you must start at the grassroots level. Ferndale faces some big challenges, so in 2017, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
As your Councilmember, I fought for affordable housing, local businesses and justice. We made progress but the work is just beginning.
